Enough Adam Smith, and some more Keynes Please!
There is not one example of a third world country becoming developed without and activist state and wealth redistribution.

Take the USA for example. Anyone's grandparents can vouch for the fact that this was a third world country before the New Deal. We did it with NO foreign investment, and then we saved the world from fascism (okay, the Soviets did, but still...). If we had followed free market economists advice, we might all be speaking German or Russian right now.

Kinuyo Yamashita is an amazing songwriter who was responsible for some of the most memorable tunes of our time. As the composer for the video game Castlevania for Nintendo in the 80s, she faced a challenge that not many composers have to face. How does one combine scary and action in a musical theme while keeping it poppy and memorable? Unlike her worthy contemporaries, like Koji Kondo et al., Kinuyo Yamashita made masterful use of a difficult faux echo effect which gave her compositions for Castlevania a feeling of spatial grandeur. Along with very original and snappy percussion, and tibre choice, these compositions really stand out.

This is the sordid story of a man who's body was stolen, stuffed and made into a museum exhibit. There is a Wikipedia page about him, but this vintage 90s webpage from the golden age of the Information Super Highway has the chilling, pixelated photos I had to spend 5 minutes looking for.

Here is the real story, though. Our civilization is predicated on a 15th century myth put forth by Hobbs, that life before concentrated agriculture was crappy. Turns out, he was wrong. The tribe this stuffed man belongs to works a few hours a day, to get food, and basically chills out the rest of the time!!!
You might say "but they did not have hospitals and stuff". Well, just because the Europeans beat everyone by a temporal hair, does not mean no one else would have gotten there eventually. Also, all of the progress we hold dear, happened at the expense of the colonized regions of the world.

is anyone aware of the the incident rate of sexual abuse? It is extremely high. People love to rail about stories like this, which are really the exception to the rule. Sexual abuse is rarely from strangers. It is usually a relative or someone you know well. Thus, it is something we may be able to address if we stop being obsessed with cases like this, which call attention to other issues--like equal protection and public education.

There are star systems that share material. The picture does not look any more remarkable than any other space picture. This is a really safe hoax, since most people will not actually read or catch the mundane parts of the article that give it away.

"ALL 6 legged insects are safe to eat, and will provide you with nutrients and calories."

oh really? ever heard of an "ant mimicing spider"? They are some of the deadliest spiders in existence.

Also, this page states that few plants are good to eat. Ever hears of hearts of palm? Cut open virtually any palm tree trunk and you will find a feast.
